Investigative journalist Robert Wainwright tells the extraordinary life of one of the most glamorous society women of the first half of the 20th century. Wainwright shows how Sheila Chisholm rose from childhood on a remote Australian sheep station to become a society lady with connections that ran from Buckingham Palace and Downing Street to Hollywood and the Kennedys. She married three times – to a Scottish Lord, an English baron and a Russian prince – attracted many suitors, including a future king and Rudolf Valentino, and was friends with Evelyn Waugh, Wallis Simpson, Idina Sackville and Nancy Mitford.

Wainwright, a journalist for 30 years and author of eight books, uncovers the real story of Sheila Chisholm and throws light on some of the scandals of the first half of the 20th century. He will also appear at a panel event at the festival to discuss investigative journalism.
