Welcome to a Very Short Introduction soapbox. A short talk lasting 15 minutes from an expert in the field. The talk is free and takes place in Blackwell’s Marquee, next to the Sheldonian Theatre.

Geography professor Jamie Woodward examines the environmental changes that took place during the great Ice Age of the Quaternary Period. He presents some of the ingenious methods that have been used to find out about our geological past and explores changing ideas about the period. Woodward is professor of physical geography at the University of Manchester. He has published widely on Quaternary environmental change and human activity in ice age environments.
