Writer and academic Professor Sarah Churchwell introduces a new collection of forgotten short stories by The Great Gatsby author F Scott Fitzgerald. Churchwell has edited and introduced the new collection of 11 short stories that have surprisingly remained out of print despite the author’s reputation. All the stories reflect Scott Fitzgerald’s familiar themes of American life in the early 20th century, including the desire to reconcile rich and poor through a search for glamour, hope and wonder.

Churchwell is professor of American literature and public understanding of the humanities at the University of East Anglia and author of The Many Lives of Marilyn Monroe.

This event is part of the American strand at the festival.
