Welcome to a Very Short Introduction soapbox. A short talk lasting 15 minutes from an expert in the field. The talk is free and takes place in Blackwell’s Marquee, next to the Sheldonian Theatre.

Art historian Christina Riggs introduces 4,000 years of visual art produced in ancient Egypt and explains what art and architecture meant to the Egyptian people. She wonders how the art of ancient Egypt relates to the modern world. Riggs is a senior lecturer at the School of Art History and World Art Studies, University of East Anglia, and author of Unwrapping Ancient Egypt and The Beautiful Burial in Roman Egypt.
