One of the brightest talents in children’s fiction talks about her brand new children’s novel, An Island of Our Own.  The story of siblings Jonathan, Holly and Davy, struggling to survive since the death of their mother, and determined to avoid being taken into care, is an extraordinarily sensitive and powerful novel.

Nicholls was named Glen Dimplex New Writer of the Year in 2008 and won the Waterstones Children’s Book prize for Ways to Live Forever.  That was followed by more acclaimed novels for young people including All Fall Down and Close Your Pretty Eyes.
