Join John Gordon-Reid on a jet-propelled narrative through some of the most significant discoveries ever made.

The story of how humans have reshaped the world over the last 10,000 years is the story of science and engineering. The talk, accompanied by a coat of many pockets and a giant edition of the Wallbook of Science & Engineering, also gets students to think about the unintended consequences of scientific endeavour with a set of golden globes and wooden spoons. This family talk is ideal for all curious individuals aged 5-105.

The What on Earth? Wallbook of Science & Engineering is part of a series of What on Earth books created by Christopher Lloyd. Gordon-Reid gives talks on the 4-billion year story of life on Earth and great moments in 10,000 years of science and engineering on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3. Lloyd gives talks on Magna Carta – 800 years in the fight for rights and freedoms, best moments in British history from the dinosaurs to the present day, and the complete plays of William Shakespeare on Thursday, April 7, Friday April 8, Saturday, April 9, and Sunday April 10.

The talks is free and no ticket is required.
