Leading world thinker on Islam Professor Tariq Ramadan gives a straightforward introduction to Islam and explains in clear language its spirituality, principles, rituals, diversity and evolution.

Ramadan aims to provide an understanding of Islam to those who know little about the religion. He provides the facts behind the headlines about Islam, Islamic history and Islamic fundamentalism. Ramadan says Muslims are constantly asked to provide answers and justify what Islam is but there is little opportunity in society or in the media to do that.

Ramadan is professor of contemporary Islamic studies at St Antony’s College, Oxford, and a member of the UK Foreign Office advisory group on freedom of religion or belief. He was named by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the top most influential thinkers in the world in 2005, 2006, 2008-2010, and 2012-2015.
