Award-winning garden designer, plantsman, journalist and writer Dan Pearson reflects on his development as a gardener from childhood in Hampshire to his roof garden in Bonnington Square and the 20 acres of hillside he gardens in Somerset and reads from some of his work.

Pearson trained at the RHS Gardens Wisley and the Royal Botanic Garden Kew. He is one of Britain’s best-known garden designers, responsible for five award-winning gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show and winning the award for best in show in 2015. He has written regularly for The Sunday Times, the Daily Telegraph and the Observer. In his latest book, Natural Selection: A Year in the Garden, he shares his knowledge of gardening and teaches the reader to see the garden with fresh eyes whether it is in the city, village or countryside.
