Well-known television journalist and presenter Sian Williams talks about her life-changing experience of breast cancer and looks at the science of resilience and growth after trauma.
Williams has studied the impact of acute stress for many years and is a trained trauma assessor. In her new book, she tells of her own battle with cancer and looks at the inspiring stories of others who have thrived and survived after facing difficult challenges. She says the power of resilience and growth exists in us all, and she offers advice on sleep, nutrition and exercise.
Williams co-presented BBC Breakfast for more than ten years and was a regular presenter on BBC News at One, the News at Six and News at Ten. She is now the main presenter of ITV’s 5 News at 5 broadcast on Channel 5.
Here she talks to broadcaster, screenwriter and actress Elizabeth Healey. healey has a PhD in neuroscience and presents the award-winning Al Jazeera documentary series The Cure, which explores global innovations in health and medicine.
