Everywoman: One Woman’s Truth about speaking the Truth CANCELLED

Jess Phillips

Saturday, 17 March 2018

2:00pm

1 hour

Worcester College: Lecture Theatre

£7 - £12.50

Labour MP Jess Phillips says speaking the truth is not always easy but it is empowering and can lead to greater equality.

Phillips says we can make a difference by being cheerleaders and doers and by daring to believe that we can make a difference. Phillips has earned a reputation for speaking out about the things she cares about. It has led to her being called a feminazi witch and a murderer and to threats of rape.

Phillips was elected MP for Birmingham Yardley in 2015. She has worked with victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking and launched the #NotTheCost campaign to combat the violence faced by politically active women, and the Recl@im the Internet campaign, which challenges abuse online.
