Wine-writer Jancis Robinson returns for 2015
One of the world’s most respected wine-writers Jancis Robinson, pictured right, makes a return visit to this year’s FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival following her sell-out appearance last year.
Britain’s foremost scholar of world religion, Karen Armstrong, has also confirmed an appearance to talk about her latest book, Fields of Blood: Religion and the History of Violence, and a second appearance on A History of God.
This year’s programme is now substantially complete with 250 events available to book on this website or at the box office in Blackwell’s bookshop, Oxford (Mon-Sun 10am-6pm 0870 343 1001).
A new printed pocket guide to the festival will be published this week and is available to download from the website.
Other new events added to the programme in the last two weeks include: a salon lunch with actress and Indian cookery expert Madhur Jaffrey, pictured left; journalist and ex-Wisden editor Matthew Engel on the joys of England’s historic counties; and well-known economics commentator Tim Harford.
Olivier Award-winning actress Juliet Stevenson appears at a one-day master class on T S Eliot that will use voice and performance work to explore the poet’s interest in music as a funnel for memory.
Reminder: closing date for entries to the 2015 Jeremy Mogford Prize for Food and Drink Writing is Wednesday 25 February.
