Helena Attlee and Rachel Roddy
Saturday, 6 April 2019
Food writers Helena Attlee and Rachel Roddy explore the art of food writing in this three-hour masterclass.
Whether you want to write a novel or an evocative travel piece, a vivid memoir, an entertaining restaurant review or a stand-out recipe, this is the place for you. In this three-hour, multi-sensory workshop, you will work towards developing your own voice as a food writer, look at the craft of good food writing, tackle the challenge of describing flavours, experiment with structure, rhythm and language to improve your style, build confidence in your writing by working with others and, above all, have fun.
Attlee is author of the bestselling The Land Where Lemons Grow: Italy and its Citrus Fruit, winner of the Guild of Food Writers Food Book of the Year. She is a feature writer for a range of magazines, and leads writing workshops all over the country. Roddy is an award-winning writer of recipe books about Italian food, including Five Quarters, winner of the Guild of Foodwriters First Book Award, and has a popular weekly column in the Guardian.
Coffee and tea will be served during the workshop.
This event lasts three hours.
