Writer and music curator Richard Havers talks to broadcaster David Freeman about 75 years of Blue Note, the definitive jazz label. The talk will be illustrated by the playing of music from some of the greats who have recorded for the label, which include Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Bud Powell and Norah Jones. Havers has compiled the first illustrated history of the label from its start in 1939 to the present day and has picked out 75 key albums to mark the anniversary.

Havers has curated box sets on the music of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald and is also author of an anniversary book on the jazz label Verve.
