It is a story of courage and bravery under occupation, centred on an all-female group of resistance fighters. The novel ties together the themes of the previous two novels and reintroduces characters from both Labyrinth and Sepulchre. The co-founder and honorary director of the Women’s Prize for Fiction, she is on the board of the National Theatre and is co-director of the Chichester Writing Festival with her husband, author and translator, Greg Mosse.
