Margaret Evison talks to BBC correspondent Caroline Wyatt about the death of her son Lieutenant Mark Evison of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and the experiences that prompted her to write their story. Mark died in 2009 afterbeing hit in the shoulder while leading a patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Evison, a clinical psychologist, talks of her first reactions at news of the injury and her son’s subsequent death, about her growing awareness of the sacrifices demanded of young soldiers and their families, and about the attitudes of the establishment.
