Two thriller writers Mark Billingham and Thomas Mogford join forces to talk about their craft. What makes a good thriller and how do they keep the reader on tenterhooks?

Billingham is the author of 11 bestselling novels and the creator of the Thorne series, the latest of which is The Bones Beneath. He has twice won the Theakston’s Old Peculier prize for best novel of the year. Mogford is author of a series of crime novels featuring Gibraltarian lawyer Spike Sanguinetti. The first, Shadow of the Rock, was a Spectator book of the year, and the latest and fourth in the series is Sleeping Dogs.
