Writers Fanny Blake and Lucy Atkins discuss everything you need to know to get your book published, whether it is written already, or just the germ of an idea. The discussion includes: how to write a book proposal; what an agent does and why you need one; how to find an agent; what an editor does; how publishers work; the reality of revising a book for publication – and much more.

Blake is the author of four novels, most recently With A Friend Like You. She is books editor of Woman & Home magazine. Before that she worked for many years in publishing and was editorial director of Viking Penguin.

Atkins is the author of the 2014 novel, The Missing One. She has also written, co-written or ghost written seven non-fiction books and is a feature journalist, and book critic for The Sunday Times.
