Ticket priceProfessional explorer, writer and photographer Levison Wood describes his 4,250-mile walk along the entire length of the River Nile, currently the subject of a Channel Four television series. Levison camped in the wild, foraged for food and fought off multiple dangers during his journey through seven different countries, passing through rainforest, savannah, swamp, desert and lush oases. The story is part one of challenge but part also of the people he met and of the great story that is modern Africa.
Wood is a former officer in the Parachute Regiment and saw active service in Afghanistan. He has managed a charity project delivering ambulances to Malawi by driving them overland from London and is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He founded the pioneering expedition service Secret Compass, which leads groups in post-conflict areas and remote wildernesses.
