Novelist Constantine Phipps introduces his new work, What You Want: The Pursuit of Happiness – an everyday story elevated to an epic tale by the author’s decision to write it entirely in rhyming couplets. It is the story of Patrick, still in love with his estranged wife, and driven to suicide by her refusal at reconciliation. In his dying dream he visits the theme park of childish desire and is instructed in the pursuit of happiness through history.

Phipps is the author of two previous novels, Careful with the Sharks and Among the Thin Ghosts. As Lord Normanby, he is the 5th Marquess of Normanby. Here he talks to acclaimed biographer and novelist A N Wilson.
