Television and radio comedian and bestselling author Tony Hawks gives an hilarious account of his move from city life in London to deepest Devon, as told in his latest book, Once Upon a Time in the West . . . Country. Hawks is a townie but, as evidenced by his previous amusing and entertaining exploits in hitchhiking around Ireland with a fridge and taking on the Moldovan football team one by one at tennis, he is not afraid of a challenge. He takes part in a calamitous tractor run, chairs a village meeting and finds time for one last adventure as fatherdom beckons – cycling coast to coast with a mini pig called Titch.

Hawks is a regular on radio and comedy shows such as Have I Got News for You, QI, Just a Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. He has written five books, together selling over one million copies, including Round Ireland With a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis, which was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize and Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize.
