Bestselling historian and broadcaster Marc Morris talks about his new and definitive biography of King John, the first major look at the life of the treacherous tyrant in a generation. Morris explains John’s hunger for power, his desire to be Richard the Lionheart’s heir, and the loss of his continental empire and disastrous attempt to regain it, all of which led to the sealing of the Magna Carta 800 years ago.

Morris is a historian specialising in the Middle Ages. He presented the highly acclaimed television series Castle and is author of A Great and Terrible King: Edward I and the Forging of Britain and The Norman Conquest.
