Scientist Dawn Field explains the rapid rise of genomics and the unprecedented possibilities it offers mankind. The living world runs on a biocode, the sum of all DNA on Earth. Field describes the latest discoveries in genomics from sequencing to the creation of new life and shows how genomics is revealing the scale and diversity of life on Earth, including vast numbers of previously unknown viruses and bacteria. And she explains the possibilities on offer including the biocoding of the whole planet.

Field is co-author with Neil Davies of Biocode – The New Age of Genomics and a research fellow with Davies of the Biodiversity Institute of Oxford at Oxford University.  She is also a research fellow of the NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
