Popular French physicist Christophe Galfard uses storytelling instead of graphs and equations to explain complex ideas and principles such as quantum mechanics, general relativity, string theory and parallel realities.

In simple language Galfard explains what it is like on the surface of our dying sun, takes us to distant galaxies and shows what it is like to be in the deathly grip of a black hole. He looks deep into questions about the beginning of time, our place within the universe and the future of humanity.

Galfard was Stephen Hawking’s graduate student between 200 and 2006 when he researched the ‘black hole information paradox’. He has co-authored books for children with Stephen and Lucy Hawking and has a passion for sharing science in an accessible way.
