The internationally acclaimed author of Chocolat Joanne Harris brings a new live show to the festival, featuring dark tales from her forthcoming collection and projections, original music and song from the band she has been a member of since college.

Harris and the Storytime Band promise a quirky and darkly magical show that will appeal to all ages and especially to lovers of folklore, fantasy and fairytale. There will be stories from Honeycomb, a collection of 100 dark and interconnected tales, illustrated by Charles Vess, and due to be published in 2018. The stories have emerged from Harris’s popular live storytelling on Twitter. The band is made up of Paul Marshall on keyboards, vocals and guitar; Kevin Harris on drums, vocals and percussion; Matt Cundy on bass and effects; and Joanne Harris on flute and vocals.

Harris has written bestselling novels across a range of genres including Chocolat, which was made into an Oscar-winning movie starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. Other work includes the fantasy novels based on Norse myth, Runemarks, Runelight and The Gospel of Loki, and a series of dark psychological thrillers, including the latest, Different Class.

This event lasts 90mins. A college bar will be open from 6.30pm.
