One of Britain’s leading medical practitioners Sir Muir Gray explains how modern lifestyles involving hours a day sitting at a desk or in a car are not suited to the way our bodies behave and are contributing to our chances of disease. He gives some practical advice on how to reduce the risks including by standing and walking.
Gray has written Midlife: Look Younger, Live Longer and Look Better in support of a Public Health England initiative. He says midlife is a time to take stock and do some simple things that can help you to live a longer and healthier life.
Gray pioneered breast and cervical screening and was knighted for his work in the development of foetal, maternal and child screening programmes. He is director of Better Value Healthcare and author of the bestselling Sod 60! and Sod 70!.
