Over the last few years, Young Adult (YA) has emerged as the most exciting new literary genre: some of the most talented new authors are writing YA, and many of the most talked about new books are YA.

We bring together three of the hottest YA debut authors – Catherine Doyle, Melinda Salisbury and Lisa Williamson – to give you a unique chance to hear them talking about their books and writing at the start of what will undoubtedly be very successful careers.  Doyle’s book Vendetta is a Romeo and Juliet story that combines love, mystery and adventure, conveyed in a series of vivid tableaux. In The Sin Eater’s Daughter Melinda Salisbury has written an outstanding fantasy novel creating a world that is both totally strange, and completely familiar. The fairy-tale background provides scope for memorable scenes of magic, while the court’s intrigues make this a taut thriller. Lisa Williamson’s book The Art of Being Normal is a sensitive, often funny and thoroughly engaging story of teenagers coming to terms with who they are. Three very different books, three outstanding new authors.
