Cartoonist and author Gary Northfield, known for his cartoons in The Beano, The Phoenix and Horrible Histories magazines, introduces a brand new adventure for Julius Zebra and his hapless pals.

Emperor Hadrian has one last favour to ask of the gladiator animals before he will grant them their freedom. They must go to the strange and far-off land of Britain to win over the crowds of his empire. Cram-packed with jokes and bursting with action, this is a mad-cap introduction to Roman Britain. Listen to a reading and learn all the tricks of the trade from a comic book creator. This event is full of drawing tips for budding cartoonists, and you will learn lots of Roman facts too.

Northfield is best known for his Derek the Sheep comic strip in The Beano. He is also author of The Terrible Tales of the Teenytinysaurs and Gary’s Garden.
