Founder of Climate Healers Dr Sailesh Rao says greenhouse gas emissions from animal agriculture are being largely ignored and urges a switch from a Planet A mindset, where the objective is to preserve civilisation as we know it, to a Planet B mindset, where the objective is to restore life as we knew it.

Rao is founder and executive director of Climate Healers, a US non-profit organisation dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. He is a systems specialist with a background in electrical engineering who designed high-speed internet communications infrastructure in common use today. He switched careers in 2006 and became involved in environmental issues.

Rao is author of five books, Carbon Dharma: The Occupation of Butterflies, Carbon Yoga: The Vegan Metamorphosis, Animal Agriculture is Immoral, The Pinky Promise and his most recent, There is a Planet B. He has been recognised as a ‘climate hero’ by The Guardian.
