Hagitude: Reimagining the Second Half of Life SOLD OUT

1 hour
Lincoln College: Oakeshott Room
£7 - £13.50
Award-winning writer and teacher at the interface of psychology, mythology and ecology Dr Sharon Blackie celebrates the unique power of women in the second half of their lives.
Blackie says ‘hagitude’ means being at ease with that power and having a strong sense of who we are and what we have to offer the world. She weaves together myth, psychology, landscape and ecofeminism to reclaim the mid years as a moment to choose your future and elder years as a path to dynamic influence.
‘There can be a perverse pleasure, as well as a sense of rightness and beauty, in insisting on flowering just when the world expects you to become quiet and diminish.’ Sharon Blackie
Blackie is author of five books of fiction and non-fiction including the bestselling If Women Rose Rooted. Her writing has appeared in the Guardian, the Irish Times, and the Scotsman and she has taught at several academic institutions, Jungian organisations, retreat centres and cultural festivals around the world.
