Telegraph journalist and author Bryony Gordon talks about the follow-up to her number one bestseller Mad Girl and explains what she has learnt ten years on from writing the first book.

Gordon still receives messages from people touched by her first book on her own experiences of mental illness. She looks at what her connections with people experiencing mental health issues and the intervening years have taught her. And she explains why she has begun to question whether she got mental health wrong. Why have her view on mental health changed radically? And why does she think the idea of what makes a happy life is the very think making us sad.

Gordon has been writing for the Telegraph for 23 years. She is author of The Wrong Knickers, You Got This and Mad Girl. She is a winner of the MIND Making A Difference Award for her work in changing the perception of mental health in the media and the Journalists’ Charity Award from the Society of Editors for mental health campaigning. Here she talks to journalist and reviewer for the FT Suzi Feay.
