Bill Tara

Natural health educator and entrepreneur Bill Tara says big business, medicine, politics and advertising have created a diet that is at the root of many diseases and kills more than 70 billion land animals a year, and he argues that the food we eat can be a force for good.

Tara says few of us realise how our food choices are affecting climate change. Recognising the impact is the first step in reversing the habits that are damaging the body. He explains how our diet impacts social justice and environmental sustainability and offers a guide to eating healthily and in a way that is friendly to the planet. 

Tara has been a health counsellor, teacher, author, entrepreneur, and creator of health education centres in Europe and North America. He founded the Community Health Foundation in London and co-founded the Kushi Institute, the world’s leading macrobiotic educational facility. Tara and Marlene Watson Tara founded the Human Ecology Project in 2021 to serve their shared vision of a healthy world for humans and non-humans alike. Their mission is to communicate the deep connections between human wellbeing, environmental sustainability, a healthy society, and the rights of all living things in a clear and well-grounded way that respects science, ancient wisdom and common sense.
