Nuclear chemist Dr Tim Gregory argues that the answer to climate change is not simply to replace fossil fuels with renewables, but to fully embrace nuclear: a carbon-free energy source that’s safe, efficient, and capable of powering our world.

Gregory says climate change is an energy challenge, not an environmental one. He debunks the enduring myths around nuclear waste and radiation and argues nuclear power is the most environmentally friendly way to harvest energy. He also dismantles the conventional wisdom that renewables are completely ‘green’.

Gregory is a nuclear chemist at Sellafield and author of Going Nuclear: How the Atom Will Save the World and Meteorite: How Stones from Outer Space Made our World. He was a finalist in BBC2’s Astronauts: Do You Have What it Takes and has also presented on BBC’s The Sky at Night, BBC Bitesize Revision, and Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch.
