23rd Oxford Literature Festival prepares to open
So now it’s just a matter of hours (and obviously that doesn’t refer to when/if we leave Europe). Thank goodness then we have something ahead of us to help reignite our minds to the true and extraordinary power of words (instead of just the latest - in a long line - of Parliamentary motions). And with the news that this year’s extraordinary line-up of authors and speakers has in fact set a record for pre-festival ticket sales, it looks like the next nine days should set something of a precedent in terms of audience attendance, all adding to the buzz and anticipation. So with no further ado - other than to salute the volunteers who every year help make the Festival experience truly welcoming - let the show commence...
