Middle Earth calls
Sir Ian McKellen
Okay, recovering over yet another coffee while waiting to see Sir Ian McKellen at the Sheldonian at 6.00pm.
It's the festival's own, rather swish gesture to commemorate Shakespeare's death and in the guise of Sir Ian, who will talk about his relationship with the great man's work, it should prove to be pretty much the literary equivalent of a 'money shot'.
Having said that, let me hold up my hand and admit that ISN'T why I'm going.
Shameless as it is to admit it, I'm going because I liked him as Gandalf in 'Lord of The Rings'.
There, I've said it.
Well, we've all got our priorities...
