THE OLDER WOMAN’S BIBLE - MARCH 24 - 9.09am
60-plus and swish...
It felt very ‘super secret’, a conspiratorial conclave, shrouded in age old mystery and lore, obsessively guarding its confidences with secret handshakes and eye brow aberrations. And at the centre of it all was Janet Ellis, ex-Blue Peter presenter and mother of Sophie Ellis-Bextor (if the way she looked was anything to go by, the long-guarded formula used by these “sisters of Tricia” was proof enough of its all-powerful spell). But before you start imagining unspeakable initiation rites and hill top gatherings at midnight, let me clarify. I was attending a talk last evening by Tricia Cusden, a highly successful beauty vlogger and businesswoman who was discussing her best selling book ‘Living the Life More Fabulous: Beauty, Style and Empowerment for Older Women’, ably assisted by company ‘ambassador’ Ms Ellis. Not surprisingly, it proved very popular with...well, women (only I and other one man dared cross the threshold) and very entertaining it proved too. Ms Cusden was/is living testament to her own miracle remedies and I have to say as a fiftysomething guy, it was a privilege to be so warmly embraced by both current and future disciples. As for the secrets disclosed, I frankly fear too much for my life to even dream of breaking the ‘silence‘...
