THE PERFECT ANTIDOTE TO ALL THAT BOOKISH INTENSITY - MARCH 12 - 9.49AM - 2019

Oxford Lit Fest 2019 young peoples’ events

With a title as grand as ‘Oxford International Literary Festival’ you might be forgiven for thinking it’s all going to be a bit...well, cerebral (or at the very least, dry and clinical). Nothing however could be further from the truth as its 2019 programme for children and teenagers gleefully demonstrates. Indeed, over its nine days, it’ll hosting more than 40 specifically tailored events that encompass everything from Harry Potter to superheroes, hedgehogs, polar bears, Moomins, dinosaurs and...big breath, dinner-ladies! Yup, when it comes to events that are full of giggles, shouts, hands raised and infinite requests for toilet breaks, it’s hard to think of any other literary festival that quite so brilliantly encourages this irresistible mayhem. And over the coming days I’ll be taking a look at just a few of these fantastically colourful talks.
