Alexandra Lloyd

German lecturer Dr Alexandra Lloyd tells the story of the White Rose group of students and a professor at the University of Munich who were executed in 1943 for secretly distributing their anti -Nazi pamphlets.

Lloyd looks at the history of the group and sets their resistance texts in the political and historical context of the day. The book includes modern translations of the pamphlets done collaboratively by undergraduates at the University of Oxford of the same age as the members of the White Rose group.

Lloyd is a tutor and researcher in German studies at the University of Oxford.
