Dent has been the resident word expert on Channel 4’s Countdown for more than 25 years and appears on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown. She is a regular television commentator on words in the news and her previous books include Dent’s Modern Tribes. Here she talks to Elizabeth Garner, a teacher of creative writing and author of two novels underpinned by myth and folklore, Nightdancing and The Ingenious Edgar Jones, and a recently-published collection of rewritten folktales Lost & Found.
