Leo Timmers and Fiona Ross

Award-winning illustrator Leo Timmers is calling on Oxford’s youngest illustrators to help him create a giant picture. There will also be storytelling, drawing demonstrations and the chance for everyone to contribute their ideas, imagination and problem-solving skills as they explore the brilliant story of Elephant Island. He will be joined by actor and storyteller Fiona Ross who will be calling on everyone in the audience to adventure on Elephant Island!

Timmers’ style is characterised by humour, form and colour, which make his illustrations leap off the page. He likes to tell stories visually with a minimum of words, and his books, Elephant Island, Who’s Driving? and Kind Crocodile have been hits in the UK and across the world. He was the first Flemish illustrator to have a book included in the New York Times’ ten best books of the year. Ross is an actor, director and education practitioner with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
