Historian, journalist and broadcaster John Keay explores the science, politics, history and culture of the Himalaya in his groundbreaking biography of the region.

The Himalaya is one of the world’s last great wildernesses. Keay describes an area where empires have collided and cultures have clashed over the centuries. He talks about some of the people attracted to the region including botanists, traders, peak-bagging mountaineers, scholars, spies, mystics and pilgrims.

Keay is a historian, journalist and radio presenter and has spent decades studying and writing about Himalaya. He is author of India: A History and China: A History.
