Former-Children’s Laureate and award-winning author Joseph Coelho reads some cosy poems perfect for exploring sleep.

The peaceful and calming poems inspired by works of art and developed with consultant art psychotherapist Mary Rose Brady are a magical way to end the day. The title of the book is taken from Van Gogh’s painting The Starry Night, which inspired Coelho’s evocative poem River Sky. Other inspirations include David Hockney’s Sleeping Dogs, Vivian Maier’s Woman with Baby and Faith Ringgold’s quilted artwork of Cassie Lightfoot flying against a night sky.

Coelho was children’s laureate between 2022 and 2024. He is a children’s author, performance poet and playwright.
