Renske Mann Interviewed by Mark Hudson

Renske Mann talks about her life with the British painter and sculptor Cyril Mann who was known for his exploration of the dynamic effects of sunlight.

Mann explains how she fell in love with a man who was more than twice her age and promised to dedicate her life to him as a muse, model and money earner, and to promote his work after he died. She talks about the struggles of the artist, both creative and financial, and offers insight into how Cyril Mann’s painting technique evolved over time. Cyril Mann died in 1980.
