Enter the magical land of Thrynne with Costa-award winning author, illustrator and former Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell, as he introduces his new book, Tiggy Thistle and the Lost Guardians.
With stories, insight and inspiration plus amazing live drawing this will be a fabulous event for everyone who loves words and pictures. In this second and final book in the critically acclaimed series, The Cloud Horse Chronicles, the Kingdom of Thrynne is under the spell of eternal winter. Tiggy Thistle sets off on an epic quest across an icy landscape in search of the Guardians of Magic, the only people who can stop the misuse of magic. Along the way, Tiggy encounters fantastical beings including magnificent cloud horses, snow monsters, friendly giants and even a talking scarf. Join Riddell to find out more about this unique world, and Tiggy’s quest to save Thrynne.
Riddell is one of the country’s finest children’s book illustrators and was Children’s Laureate from 2015-17. He has won the Kate Greenaway Medal three times – for Pirate Diary, Gulliver’s Travels and The Sleeper and the Spindle. In recent years he has had success writing and illustrating his own books, including the Ottoline stories and Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse, which won a Costa Book Award.
