Writer and poet Professor Jasmine Donahaye explores birds, the aftermath of violence, and women’s particular experience of the natural world.
Donahaye’s new collection of interlinked essays, Birdsplaining: A Natural History, asks provocative questions about our relationship to the natural world and to one another.
Donahaye is a professor of creative writing at Swansea University and author of the memoir, Losing Israel, a biography of Lily Tobias, and two collections of poetry. Here she talks to Professor Jem Poster, emeritus professor of creative writing, Aberystwyth University, author of a collection of poetry, Brought to Light, and of two novels, Courting Shadows and Rifling Paradise.
