Politics and public policy expert Professor Dennis Grube asks why government decisions can often seem clueless and confusing when in many cases our lives depend on them.
Grube looks at the pitfalls, failures and successes of politicians around the globe. Why do some fumble their briefs and why do others seem to be on top of them and able to project an aura of calm? He looks at issues such as the UK school exam fiasco during the pandemic, gun reform in Australian and sanitation in India. And he identifies the key elements that make for successful government.
Grube is a professor in politics and public policy at the University of Cambridge. He leads research on political decision-making in the Bennett Institute for Public Policy and was once a political speechwriter in his native Tasmania.
