Nigerian writers, Ever Obi and Ikenna Okeh join Croatian writer Ivan Sršen to discuss their latest books and their stories of immigration, politics, racial integration and culture.

Obi’s Some Angels Don’t See God sees ambitious young banker Peter Idenala’s stable but uninteresting life disrupted when he reads a work of fiction written by his former lover that recounts torrid experiences he had as an undergraduate. The two must face the traumas of their past. Obi lives in Lagos where he writes and also works as a financial risk manager.

Okeh’s Deportee is the story of Nigerian immigrant Anayo who is deported back to his home country from Cyprus where he faces many of the typical challenges for an immigrant who finds themselves back home. Okeh is an author of narrative poetry and prose fiction centred around African characters.

Sršen is author of Harmatten, a novel about a young Nigerian Uhunoma in search of a better life but who finds herself locked up in a Bavarian prison for not having valid documents to stay in the EU. In prison, she meets women from all over the world. Sršen works in publishing and is co-founder of Sandorf Publishing.
