The author of two successful, concurrent, much-loved and very different series Simon Mason explains how writers keep their separate identities separate.
Lost and Never Found is the third book in the DI Ryan Wilkins Mysteries. The first book, A Killing in November, received widespread critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger. The Second book, The Broken Afternoon, was a Times Audio Book of the Week and a Sunday Times Crime Book of the Month. Missing Person: Alice is the first in the Finder series and was followed by The Case of the Lonely Accountant. Both feature the Finder, an ex-policeman now working freelance as a specialist in finding missing persons.
Mason has pursued parallel careers as a publisher and an author. He is a former managing director of David Fickling Books, where he worked with writers including Philip Pullman. He has also taught at Oxford Brookes University and has been a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Exeter College, Oxford. Mason has also written a series of young adult crime novels Running Girl, Kid Got Shot and Hey, Sherlock!. Here he talks to Triona Adams, director of the festival’s crime fiction programme.
Part of the festival’s crime fiction programme.
