Literary agent and biographer Andrew Lownie lifts the lid on the lives of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, finding a spoilt prince unable to connect and a duchess desperate to maintain the attention brought by her royal status.

The two still live under the same roof and famously describe themselves as the ‘happiest divorced couple in the world’. Lownie traces their lives from childhood through courtship, marriage, divorce, careers and royal and charitable activities. He looks at Andrew’s Falklands record and reveals how the couple have been able to financially sustain extravagant lifestyles. Lownie delves into links with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and says they began earlier, continued longer and were more frequent than reported.

Lownie has been a bookseller, publisher and journalist and now runs his own literary agency. His books include Stalin’s Englishman: The Lives of Guy Burgess, The Mountbattens: Their Lives and Loves and Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
