Publisher of children’s books David Fickling is joined by some authors from his list to discuss what makes a great children’s book.
Fickling is a three-time winner of the Branford Boase Award. Authors he has worked with include Philip Pullman, Anne Fine, John Boyne, Jacqueline Wilson and Mark Haddon. He now runs his own company, David Fickling Books, in Oxford. Fickling is as enthusiastic about children’s literature as ever, and as adept as ever at identifying and nurturing the most exciting new talent. Hear him in conversation with some of his rising stars, Candy Gourlay and Dan Freedman, celebrating the best of children’s books and the relationship between editor and author.
